U.S. Padel Demographics 2026: Age, Income, Gender & Player Statistics
A look at U.S. padel demographics, income, age, gender and the trends shaping one of America's emerging racquet sports.
Padel is no longer a niche sport in the United States. In 2025, 1,073,000 Americans played padel, marking its first appearance in the Sports & Fitness Industry Association’s national participation research. Worldwide, the International Padel Federation now reports more than 40 million players. [1] [2]
But who plays padel in America? How old are the players? What do they earn, and how frequently do they return to the court? Here’s what official research and clearly labeled industry estimates tell us.
Most American padel players are still occasional players
The strongest data comes from SFIA and USA Padel: 835,000 Americans played between one and seven times in 2025; 238,000 played eight times or more. This means roughly 78% were occasional participants, leaving room for the sport to become a more regular habit. [1]

For club operators, the opportunity is not only getting more people to try padel, it is turning their first experience into a weekly social and fitness routine.
What age are padel players in the United States?
A Branded Pickleball demographic profile reports a median U.S. player age of 36, with particularly strong representation in the 25–44 range. Its published age-bracket graphic indicates 51% in that range, although a separate headline reports 44%. Those two figures conflict; the chart below reproduces the age brackets rather than asserting one as verified. [3]

One reason padel appeals to different age groups is its accessible learning curve, combined with enough tactical complexity to keep competitive players engaged. These are characteristics of the game, however, not measured explanations for the chart above.
What is the gender breakdown?
The same U.S. industry profile estimates 68% male and 32% female participation. This should be treated as an attributed estimate rather than an independently verified U.S. population statistic. [3]

Globally, the 2026 FIP report describes a much more balanced sport, at approximately 53% men and 47% women. The global and U.S. figures are derived from different datasets and should not be interpreted as directly comparable survey results. [4]
How much do padel players earn?
Padel’s premium-club image has drawn interest from fitness, wellness, hospitality and lifestyle brands. Branded Pickleball estimates $148,000 in median annual household income among U.S. padel players. Its reported income chart suggests 60% are in households earning at least $125,000 annually. Neither estimate has been independently confirmed from a disclosed nationally representative padel survey. [3]

These estimated figures may help shape hypotheses about premium memberships, sponsorships and wellness offerings, but operators should test willingness to pay through local customer research rather than assume that national household income predicts spending at a particular club.
International roots and racquet-sport crossover
According to the same third-party profile, 31% of U.S. padel players are foreign-born, and 58% also play tennis or pickleball. The page does not disclose a source-specific sample or methodology for these numbers, so they should be interpreted as estimates, not verified national participation rates. [3]

Padel’s existing culture across Spain, Argentina and Mexico has helped build an international community. For U.S. clubs, connecting with both experienced players and newcomers from tennis and pickleball offers several potential routes into the sport.
Why these demographics matter for the future of padel
Three ideas stand out. First, the verified gap between occasional and regular players leaves significant space for lessons, leagues and social matchmaking. Second, third-party age and income estimates suggest a potential premium audience, one that requires local validation. Third, the global gender balance indicates that padel can reach a broad mix of participants when access and programming support them.
At EVO Padel Las Vegas, we’re building a premium indoor experience around these opportunities: dedicated courts, an active community, performance technology and wellness. The objective is to make playing easier to organize, more engaging to improve at, and more rewarding to return to.
